Sonic Highways

W poście  November Favorites wymieniłam najnowszy, ósmy już album Foo Fighters jako jedno  z mojego Top 3 miesiąca i naprawdę uważam, że jest to świetna płyta. Myślę, że nie wszystkich może zachwycić i pewnie sporo można mu zarzucić, ale już sam pomysł stworzenia go zasługuje na uwagę. Nagrywając go, Dave z ekipą przejechał wzdłuż i wszerz Stany Zjednoczone i w efekcie tej podróży powstało 8 piosenek, z których każda została nagrana w innym, ważnym dla muzyki studiu w Kalifornii, Teksasie, Luizjanie, Waszyngtonie, Wirginii, Tennessee i Illinois. Jako, że jest to niewiele utworów, wszystkie są dość długie i każdy ma czas żeby się rozwinąć w ciekawym i często nieoczekiwanym kierunku. Wszystko pozostaje w typowym dla FF rockowo zbuntowanym klimacie, ale mimo wszystko album ten wydaje mi się inny od pozostałych. No i kryje isę za nim świetna historia :) Jeśli jakimś cudem jeszcze go nie przesłuchaliście, polecam!

In November Favorites post I mentioned the newest Foo Fighters album as one of my Top 3 of the month and I really think it’s a great record. I understand that it may not be brilliant to everyone and that there may be a lot of things that may speak against it but even the idea itself of creating it deserves some attention. Making it, Dave with his guys traveled around the US and as a result of this trip, we have eight songs, each recorded in a different, important for the music history recording studio in California, Texas, Louisiana, Washington, Virginia, Tennessee and Illinois. As for the fact that there aren’t many songs on the album, they are all quite long and each has enough time to develop in an interesting and often unexpected direction. Of course, everything remains in this typical for FF rock and rebel climate but in spite of this, the whole album seems different from the others to me. And there’s a great story behind it so if, somehow, you haven’t listened to it yet, go and do it! :)
